A Tale of Persecution

By Zein Zaarour

Dahesh, a man divine, faced cruel persecution’s might,

Stripped of his citizenship, by Khoury’s order overnight.

Exiled from his homeland, yet victory he’d soon attain,

By God’s will he returned, his rightful place to regain.

In August of forty-four, a fateful day arrived,

As Dahesh neared his home, danger soon derived.

His dwelling Thugs surrounded, a trap so grimly laid,

But quick-witted Dahesh, to the police station made.

With his brother Haddad, a loyal friend indeed,

Sought help from lawmen but found not any heed.

For higher powers had schemed, pleas on deaf ears,

Roots of injustice so deep, as it evidently appears..

Khoury’s hand was heavy, judgment blind and cruel,

By sectarian strife was fueled, a most unworthy duel.

For sister Mary Haddad, an artist of great renown,

Daheshism she embraced, earning Khoury’s frown.

To separate her they tried, from Dr. Dahesh’s side,

Using every means, searching hard far and wide.

With criminals the state conspired, an unholy alliance,

To ambush the good doctor, breaking all compliance.

Dahesh returning home, found a grim reception,

Police arrived for arrest, in most deadly deception.

Imprisoned for thirteen days, with no charge to his name,

His spirit they sought to break, but couldn’t dim his flame.

At brother Haddad’s house, drama would unfold,

Antoinette and Magda both, sisters brave and bold,

Rushed to meet the doctor, defying serious harm,

But violence swiftly erupted, causing great alarm.

Tabara aimed his pistol, intent on a fatal deed,

Magda’s intervention made, a bullet miss its lead.

Dahesh climbed the stairs, yet no respite found there,

For Fayyad’s gun butt struck, leaving him unaware.

Unconscious and battered, down the steps he fell,

whisked away to Aleppo, enduring a living hell.

Four days with no sustenance, in a dark cell so bare,

Before being cast to Turkey, stripped of papers fair.

Yet through such ordeal, his spirit was unbroken,

Faith and resilience shone, a truly powerful token.

In time, he’d rise again, reclaiming what was lost,

A testament to perseverance, whatever be the cost.

Our Mission

We are a group of individuals from all walks of life and dispersed throughout the world, who had the privilege of being exposed to Daheshism. Some of us had an opportunity to: be with Dahesh, witness his miracles, travel with him, live with him, and listen to his wisdom. Although some of us have never had the pleasure of meeting Dahesh in person, due to age or circumstances, yet our faith in him and in his Mission is strong—it is always reassuring to remember the words of Lord Christ: “…How happy are those who believe without seeing me!” (John 20:29). The content of this web site has been collected from magazine and newspaper interviews and reports and other publications. Although this web site is limited in content at this early stage of development, it is expected to grow significantly as fellow Daheshists finish preparing testimonials about their experiences with Dahesh and Daheshism. This site is meant to be a source of information for anyone interested in learning about Dahesh, his life, Mission, miracles, accomplishments, and legacy. The individuals involved with this web site do not represent any organization of any kind.
